There have been quite a few reports on the internet today and yesterday about plans from Orange in France to offer an unlocked version of the iPhone. Of course, for Apple (and Orange) this isn’t exactly what they want - but due to French laws they can’t do much about it.

Before yesterday it looked like it was to be locked to only French networks (first reported in October) but apparently this is not the case. More at Engadget.
